Jailbreak help on refurb. apple tv 2 with 4.4.4. 1600 errors in Itunes

I’m having trouble jailbreaking my refurb Apple TV 2. I followed this guide: http://forum.firecore.com/topic/7314, but I keep getting the 1604 errors in Itunes. I even bought a new USB cable to see if that was the culprit. It seems to be stuck on the “preparing your ATV for restore” stage. Does someone have any advice?

Update: I tried the iREB method using the iREB in sn0wbreeze, and now I get to the “verifying restore” step and receive a 1602 error. I’ve tried booting up tinyumbrella during restore, and it just results in a 1600 error. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Same here for some reason and I have done lots this way in the past. I can restore and update apple to newest software with no issues (yes i have 4.44 blobs saved) but as soon as I try to even restore back to original without patched season pass jailbreak it still gives me the error. 2 different computers 1 with xp one with windows 7 and 2 different usb cables. Like I said never had issues in the past. I was thinking possibly it didnt save blobs correctly so I tried again with the ones on the server and still no go, not sure WTF is going on.

It’s very frustrating! I’ve read forums where they tell you to ignore the error and plug it back into your TV, but I always receive the itunes + plug symbol on my screen, so it’s obviously still in restore mode for some reason.

I just JB’d a ATV2 on 4.4.4 with iFaith blobs last week with a Win 7 64 bit machine using this guide http://forum.firecore.com/topic/7314 and i never got a single error. Took about 10-15 minutes…/It is weird that some get errors and some don’t. I don’t have an answer why, wish i did.

Yes I have done many that way too, thought I was getting good at it lol guess not. Does anyone know how you open blobs? I remeber reading one time the blobs didnt save correctly and just wonder if thats the case with this one. It says its 12KB as do the other ones I have saved, just looked for that post about opening blobs in notepad or something…I just did that yes my apticket is all 000000000000 and others are not nolegrl open it in notepad and see if its the same

Seems like the fix would be to keep dumping and deleting the blogs until you get the correct info in apticket…I opened several blobs and all have the correct info in apticket. I assume thats why i have not had any errors. Thanks for the reminder shaneb.8295, i had forgot about seeing the info on bad aptickets.

I actually just had to update itunes for my problem. I thought I had already updated it, apparently I had just downloaded it, not installed it. Whoops. All good now. Works just fine and got XBMC running. Thanks for the responses everyone!

I think IM hooped now as I did a restore earlier before I knew about apticket wanting to test if I got 1600 when I did restore and I didnt of course and now I found out about apticket…note to self always check the blobs in notepad and make sure they are valid, just never had that issue at all in past but I guess thats how easily it could happen. Wish we could figure out aptickets similar to a keygen when you enter the serial # (ESN) what ever of the unit. That would be sweet!
