I am trying to play this file: Guardians.of.the.Galaxy.2014.HDR.1080p.IMAX.HEVC.10bit.BT2020…DTS-HD.MA.7.1-VISIONPLUSHDR1000.
But it doesn’t work. It plays for a couple of seconds and then stops and starts buffering.
File size is about 25 gb but my ATV 4 is connected to my NAS via ethernet so speed is most likely not the problem.
I have a lot of large blurayrips and all of them plays without a problem.
So my question is this: Is there something with the format of this rip that’s causing the problem?
10bit HEVC is pretty much out of reach of the current abilities if ATV and Infuse to decode x265 video. There are changes coming down the road when tvOS 11 is released (fall I think) with new abilities in the x265 relm. Hopefully Infuse will be able to also take advantages of the changes and provide butter smooth playback of the 10bit HEVC.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
