Updating to 5.0

Legacy 2nd gen Apple TV

Hi

 

I have been running aTV Flash on my jailbroken Apple TV (2nd Gen) for about 6 months.  I would like to update my Apple TV to iOS 5.1 so I can take advantage of the new look etc.  I am a bit confused as to how I do this or if it is possible.

 

Current setup is as follows

Apple TV Software - 4.4.3

aTV Flash (Black) - 1.5

corinh.8360 dear friend I’d be interested to see if I can install the 5.0 update I am currently using 4.4.4 but if something better I would like to try.

To update the Apple TV to the latest version of Apple OS then connect the TV direct to your MAC without power, HDMi and using the USB lead and then through iTunes instal the latest software.  Then Jailbreak the Apple TV and install ATV Flash again.   

 

I did this yesterday and it works without issue.
