I’ve reported this awful bug before. It is soooo annoying.
I have a subtitle language preference.
When it’s a tv show, it usually picks the INDEX of the language assuming that all the show’s episodes will have the same exact languages in their subtitles. Let’s say my language is number 9. It will show the correct one for the first episode, particularly if I pick it manually.
Then, subsequent shows show the same index language. I.e., number 9 subtitle language. Regardless of what language it is. It doesn’t try to find the same language on the settings - it assumes the language list is identical.
It sometimes is and sometimes not.
So each episode I have to move it one up or one down.
