If I’m not mistaken, it was supported before, right?
I just got some old cartoons collection like Betty Boop Essential Collection, and TVDB is the only place where it’s even catalog by season. The other ones, like IMDB or TMDB has nothing on it.
Also same thing with animes, if they’re not released in the US you will find nothing, but they are usually listed in the TVDB.
Yes it was supported many years ago, but then TVDB changed their API and raised their licensing costs significantly, so Infuse decided to drop them. Based on their research at the time, almost all of the tv shows were supported or close to being supported on TMDB. There are still exceptions and the way some shows are organized has been frustrating for many.
I know for things like animated cartoons, these are all listed as movie shorts as opposed to a show. Anime has its own pattern
I can add the metadata manually, but even though I add a .nfo for every episode, and a .nfo for the show, it’s still not recognized as a TV show and goes into the OTHER category. How do I make it appear as a TV Show?
TV Shows don’t currently support nfo files. You can add your support for a suggestion to add this feature here.
Create custom TV series using NFO/XML files
Thanks, I just added to that thread. Also, I just created a page for the show in TMDB and now it appears, but what I don’t understand much is that apparently I’m only limited to US shows, so Anime shows might be an issue.
I think in the absence of TVDB is paramount that we get to be able to add .nfo, I’m just a bit surprised it hasn’t already, it’s been a while.
