Why does iOS struggle to play video smoothly?

Hello, I have gone back to Android with Pixel 7a that is able to play 4K HDR movies without judder/frame drop and also zero color banding in any video player, its like watching it in the cinema, its a shame I had to sell my iPhone 15 plus but iOS cannot play video smoothly without frame drops or the feeling of video running at 15-20fps with color banding etc on any video player, why is this?

Is it Apples fault that they just suck at their video decoder?

@james does Apple have inferior juddering compared to Android that is out of your control, My pixel 7a with mpv-android is fluid with panning and with any media player even the native one on iOS is a judder fest?
