Which hard drive solution to choose from ...

Hi,

I have an Apple TV with a 40GB drive and want to install ATV Flash. If I want to have more hard disk space, I am wondering which solution I should choose from:

• wired streaming from my computer’s hard disk (gigabit ethernet)
• wired streaming from a hard disk connected to an Airport Extreme base connected to my computer
• wireless streaming from my computer’s hard disk
• wireless streaming from a hard disk connected to an Airport Extreme base connected to my computer
• USB hard disk connected to my Apple TV
• upgrading my Apple TV to a 160GB model

Which one would give me the best performance ? Will there be that much of a difference and what would be that difference ?

Thanks in advance.

I’ve streamed and stored in on the AppleTV. i strongly prefer to store it on the ATV.

My music and photos and movies are well over 160 GB so I bought a 2 TB external HD and connected it via USB. It’s been great! No drop outs. It just works. It syncs with iTunes. I prefer it much better this way. That being said, I still stream the Wife’s computer and the daughter’s computer and it works, but the performance is much better when it is stored on the ATV in my opinion.
