today I’ve joined the Firecore forum because I would like to have some support. After doing a lot of search I wasn’t able to find the right answer. It’s a common problem here in this part of the forum but the answer I needed wasn’t in one of these topics.
For some reason some DVD’s on my Synology DS112 won’t be played by Firecore. .ISO and .MKV files are no problem to play them. It’s about the files in the Video TS folder. I have a lot of those folders and they are played well with ATVflash. But when I click on a cover to play the DVD, it shows all the files in that folder. It isn’t just starting the movie or menu of that movie. I’ve compared a Video TS folder which it’s played on the Apple TV2 and one which isn’t. I can’t discover what is wrong. Both folders exists of .VOB, .BUP and .IFO files. Are there any files (or just one file) missing in the folders that can’t be played?
Typically with VIDEO_TS files you’ll want to have a ‘container’ folder for each movie which would contain the relevant VIDEO_TS (and AUDIO_TS, if present) folders.
I have some more movies like this which ATV won’t play from a menu. I compared the files in folder that will play but I can’t see why some movies won’t be played.
There is no coverart for the folder and the files in the folder show up as separate files. Those files sometimes do have so form of coverart. Seems like a screenshot.
Is a .NFO file needed to play this movie from it’s menu?
Had the same problem. All the files in the Video_ts folder seemed in order but in Apple Tv it showed up as a folder that wouldn’t play but kept expanding to the Vob’s instead of having a nice blue dot next to the name.
I think its a corrupted rip of the DVD formatting of the original.
When I ran the files through a neat little program FIXVTS 1.603 it cheked the DVD rip structure corrected the file and it now plays.
