Whether is it free to upgrade to infuse pro in future main versions such as 9.0 pro, 10.0 pro, etc if I subscribe the lifetime version? or it’s only free to upgrade to the basic version, and should pay the upgrade fee for pro version?
If you have an active Infuse Pro subscription for monthly or annual you will get future updates like Infuse Pro 9, 10 etc at no additional charge and at your current locked in subscription price. If you let it lapse then you may see a price increase if the app store subscription price has increased since you had the previous subscription.
If you purchase a Lifetime subscription to Infuse Pro then you will get all future updates such as Infuse Pro 9 or Infuse Pro 10 at no additional cost.
Thank you for the prompt response. It’s clear!
Just completed the lifetime subscription and I hope that the APP will get better and better, so that more people can enjoy your high-quality products and services.
just be aware that “lifetime” may have a different meaning to Firecore than it does do you.
i almost certainly doesn’t mean your lifetime, it’ll be the lifeime up the point they decide they want to change their business model.
having someone who’s paid a single payment for lifetime updates and support is extremely bad business practice.
Of course with any company there is a risk of the rules being changed, but since the Lifetime license option was introduced in 2017 anyone who has purchased this has been able to continuing using their Pro features when updating to Infuse 6.0, 7.0, and 8.0 without having to pay anything extra. We have no intentions of changing this.
at the moment, as with any business, intentions can change.
i’m not suggesting it will be culled tomorrow or any time soon, but i suspect firecore rely heavily on the monthly/yearly subs as continual income as opposed to the one off lifetimers.
if every user was a lifetimer you’d have zero ongoing income from users.
you need to make money somehow.
Holding strongly onto my Infuse “Pioneer” Subscription at €5,23/year
I think “everyone was a lifetimer” is really difficult since different people have different demands and they can’t be exactly the same.
Or in certain extreme situations let’s assume that “infuse pro” is really hot to attract more people to subscribe the “lifetime”, firecore still can decide to cancel such option from some day but keep the rights for those who subscribed “lifetime” before. That can keep ongoing income and attract more people, right?
yes you can “grandfather” people in, but that only works if you have enough “new” people with an on-going payment to subsidise those that only paid the once but keep receiving updates.
plex have additional income streams that probably allow them keep having a one-off payment “lifetime” option, but the devil is that those additional income streams are not what most plex users want (the data grab, streaming options with ads etc).
