Does an expired licence mean that aTV Flash (black) won't work anymore? Or does it mean it will work but I won't be able to download updates? Or does it mean I'll be able to download updates but won't have access to tech support?
Please explain further.
The software will continue to work for as long as you have it installed, even if your license should expire.
An expired license simply means you will not have access to new features or updates.
One more question: If I get a "lifetime" license is it only good for aTV Flash (black) or will it actually cover other software releases for new versions of Apple TV released in my lifetime?
At this point I can't say for sure. That's a bridge we're going to cross when we get to it.
Okay, but I'm hesitant to buy something that has yet to be defined. When I make a purchase, I like to know exactly what I'm getting for my money.
Honestly it's hard to speculate about what new hardware will be coming next.
However, in the past we have done our best to treat our users fairly by making aTV Flash (black) available as free upgrade for existing users.
Thanks, James. You guys seem like a class act.
