WebDAV playback error (com.firecore.media.player, error 1) after latest update

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a playback issue that started immediately after the latest Infuse update on my Apple TV.

When I try to play any video file from a WebDAV share hosted on my local Mac, the video fails to load and throws the following error (as shown in the attached image.png):

“An error occurred. Could not complete the operation. (com.firecore.media.player, error 1.)”

Here are some important details about the situation:

  • It used to work perfectly: This exact setup has been working flawlessly for a long time until the application updated.
  • Browsing works: I can still browse all the folders, and Infuse can read the library, fetch metadata, and show posters without any issues. The error only triggers the moment I hit play.
  • Other sources work: Playing .strm files from Zurg works completely fine, which seems to isolate the issue specifically to how Infuse is now handling the local Mac WebDAV stream.

Has anything changed regarding local WebDAV streaming protocols or timeouts in the latest release? Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance for the help!

It may help to specify the version numbers of both Infuse and the OS since both have frequent updates.

tvOS 26.5. Infuse 8.4.8. But the same happens in macOS and iOS.

I’m having this issue as well.

Both during playback and during speed tests.

Also, it’s happening both on WebDAV and on Yandex (connected via preconfigured api provided by Infuse app)

during playback the error occurs, very often within the first 5 minutes. sometimes within a minute or less.

During speed test the error occurs, but it just says Error Has Occurred (but I suspect it’s the same error)

My WebDAV server is not Yandex. It’s another cloud provider.

so far I’ve only seen this error on 4K movies above 10Gb in size. I haven’t done extensive testing on smaller files or smaller resolutions yet.

Apple TV 4K 3rd Gen

Infuse Pro 8.4.8

tvOS 26.5

Edit: more context that contrasts OPs environment.

my WebDAV is not local, it’s remote. Been using it for more than 5 years. Yandex is obviously not local either, only been using that for about 2 months.

Does Firecore need more information from us on this issue?

This is a holiday weekend in the United States so it may take a few days for them to see this.

If you are able to send in a diagnostic report from your device (and post the code here) we can look further into what may be going on.

I’ve noticed that it seems to be happening with normal series that are 1080p and the file sizes are not more than 4gb. But it takes longer and it doesn’t show an error. It just stops adding more data to the buffer about a third way through and just shows a spinning wheel endlessly.

I will try to replicate these issues all at once and submit a diagnostic report.

Thanks. I’m curious to know how things are going with OP. @Cipri do you have an update on your situation?

Still the same. I can’t play anything through webDAV.

I’m just absolutely struggling to reproduce this issue now. I duno wtf. I changed my router to an Asus BE58U - and now my IoT devices are all going berserk. I’ll keep an eye out for this issue if it ever pops up I’ll submit a diagnostic.
