WebDav Error: Failed to open input stream in demuxing stream

Hi all — hoping someone here might have some insight.

I’ve been using Infuse Pro with TorBox via WebDAV for several months without any issues. Everything has been smooth and reliable — until just a few days ago. Now, every video I try to play gives me this error:

“Failed to open input stream in demuxing stream.”

Nothing has changed on my end. Same setup, same files, same network. I’ve already tried the following:

  • Reinstalled Infuse Pro
  • Deleted and re-added my WebDAV connection
  • Cleared metadata and cached data
  • Restarted my Apple TV and devices
  • Tried suggestions from Reddit — still no luck

I did hear that TorBox recently restructured their WebDAV servers, so that might be a factor, but I’m not entirely sure if the issue lies with TorBox or something on the Infuse side. I’ve reached out to TorBox support and they’ve been responsive — they asked me to send a screen recording, which I’ll be doing this weekend.

In the meantime, I figured it couldn’t hurt to check in here too. Has anyone else experienced this or have any troubleshooting ideas?

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: I’ve tested this with another apple app that using webdav protocol and it works. I’m wondering if this has to do with Infuse Pro. Please advise. Thanks.

If you’re able to send in a diagnostic report from your device (and post the 5 digit code here) we can look deeper into the actual cause of what’s going on here.

Thanks, James — I wasn’t able to get the diagnostic report to go through on macOS, but I successfully submitted it from my iPhone.

Here’s the code: RVTG5

Let me know if there’s anything else you need from me. Really appreciate you taking the time to look into this!

It looks like Infuse is getting a combination of 401 and 404 errors when attempting to connect to this server. This may be due to username/password error or maybe some settings with your account.

I also found this guide which has a few things to check.

Thanks, James — I appreciate the quick reply.

I actually removed and re-added my WebDAV account in Infuse to rule out any username/password issues, but the problem still persists.

What’s puzzling is that Infuse does successfully connect to the WebDAV server — it loads all my media, including titles and posters, without any issue. That would seem to indicate that authentication is working, since it can browse my library.

The issue only happens when I try to play a file — that’s when I get the red error icon and the message about failing to open the input stream.

Just wanted to clarify that in case it helps narrow things down. Let me know if there’s anything else I can try or provide!

Thanks again,
Matthew

I had the same issue even though I don’t use torbox myself. It only affected some rare files for me and seemed to solve itself.
@MatthewX You can try re-installing infuse, if you can bear that it solves most issues for me!
