For me It doesn’t work, actually it’s worst because it says “an error accoured”, user and password I put it’s correct because it didn’t gave me error.
Neither does it work for me with admin/admin
i have still infuse 4
Mine it’a the lastest versione
Just a suggestion, but maybe try and reset the admin account password via the WD admin pages. You can access it with a web browser on the same network - just type in either the IP address of the NAS or the network name - usually its ‘wdmycloud.local’ or something very similar depending on model. When you initially set up the NAS it should have asked you to create users and change admin password etc I think. I’ve got three of them, all with additional users set up, all with additional shares, and all connecting to infuse happily over SMB using anonymous login.
If you can’t login via the web page using the admin account due to incorrect password then that’s probably your issue (maybe you changed the password and forgot it). You can do a soft reset using the pin at the back of the box to reset accounts (won’t delete your data).
ps - am pretty sure the PUBLIC folder exists by default on these boxes and cannot be deleted.
I’ve already tried to enter the WDMyCloudHome from the IP adress but this shows on the browser “{“key”:“notFound”,“message”:“Not Found”}”
Interesting - it seems the mycloudhome doesn’t support a webbrowser dashboard! I have the mycloud and mycloudmirror - both of those do support it.
You can still manage the HOME version using an iOS app, or download the desktop version. Connection (on the same network) will be automatic and you can manage users/shares etc.
Yes, via app I can access the MyCloudHome, but the only thing I can do is upload files and create link to share them, nothing else.
On the iOS app
- Connect to your mycloud
2.Click the menu button top left (three lines on top of each other) - Hit the cog wheel next to your mycloud
- You can select USERS from the settings screen and manage your users
Its working fine for me just checked…
Thanks for the English screenshot ![]()
On my version of that screen, it shows me as the admin user first, followed by the ability to add/invite other users. When you set up the mycloud initially (at mycloud.com) did you add yourself as an admin user?
Maybe try to share the main parent(movies) folder with yourself - then use that newly created account with Infuse and see if that works?
I reset the MyCloudHome and started it as a new device. I’m the admin and I’ve also inveted myself via mail. Nothing change.
The issues is that my MacBook show the NAS in two ways (as you can see in the screenshot):
“Matteo’s My Cloud Home” and “MyCloud-JHS0K4”
Matteo’s My Cloud Home is where I put all my file, MyCloud-JHS0K4 as you can see show the folder of the TimeMachineBackup (Note, I’ve never once used TimeMachine on my MacBook). The problem is that Infuse, when I try to connect to the NAS show only MyCloudJKHS0K4 and when I log in with the user and pswd from MyCloud.com it show me just a folder called public (a folder which doesn’t exhist anyware, since I never create that folder) and that folder is empty.
Apparently there are som big differences between MyCloud and MyCloud Home. User administration is one of them and it looks like that is the culprit in this question. I’ve tried everything but no luck so now I will “defect” to Plex wich is working flawlessly together with MyCloud Home.
Done some reading on this (which I should have done first!) - seems a lot of people (me included) expected the MYCLOUDHOME to be a worthy upgrade to the MYCLOUD/MYCLOUDMIRROR. It isn’t, its a totally different beast - with less functionality than MYCLOUD. I don’t understand why they increased the specs but limited what you can actually do with it!
@mgnever - Reading the link below, it seems that the ‘share’ where you are putting your files is not accessible by anyone else on the local network (you can only access it using WD apps or the mapped computer), its a private share. But, it does say that if you use the shared folder (the one called MyCloudJKHS0K4) then it should be public on the local network (thats the PUBLIC folder I’m assuming) and therefore should readable by Infuse from the apple TV. Good luck !! ![]()
once again, just enter the admin / admin when connecting the infuse (works on infuse4 and infuse5).
no settings need to be changed on WD my home.
That’s exactly what I did, I put a video on the mycloudjkhs0k4 but that public folder it’s still empty..
from mac to WD as guest, from Infuse to WD admin/admin
Already done it. Still just public folder and still empty.
