Watch status not syncing between devices

Two AppleTV devices. Same iCloud account.

I play the same series from a Synology NAS using SMB. Using 8.0.4, it no longer shows the episode watch status of one device to the other.

Suggestions?

Maybe check and make sure both ATVs have the same primary user?

Found it. It’s the same and it hasn’t changed

This is a new phenomenon, it started messing up the sync recently.

How do I diagnose this? Extremely frustrating…

Ok, trying two things:

  1. I tried recreating the share again on both devices.
  2. I added a Jellyfin server install. Still considering which one to use, I think I prefer the Infuse implementation of the catalog.

Can you check to ensure you are using the latest 8.0.4 version on all devices? The version number can be found by scrolling to the bottom of Infuse > Settings.

Due to the new library scanning options added in 8.0.4 iCloud syncing between 8.0.4 and older versions of Infuse will not be possible.

If you are using Jellyfin then Infuse will use that to sync watched statuses instead of iCloud.

I think there might have been a bug when migrating from earlier version to 8.0.4

Once I redefined the Shares and library and rescanned, everything was back to normal.

Using Jellyfin as a backup, but I prefer the traditional Infuse-NAS relationship and want to keep it if I can.
