I don’t know the specific details around the removal, but in general Infuse has always aimed to act as a good citizen and do things by-the-book. We have licenses in place for codecs, official agreements for metadata, artwork, and trailers, and we work closely with other 3rd-party partners to ensure things are in compliance.
As a result, Infuse has enjoyed a relatively problem-free relationship with Apple since its original release in 2013 (over 13 years ago!).
We have no reason to believe this will change, but if Apple were to share any concerns about features included in the app we would of course take the necessary steps to ensure Infuse remains in full compliance with the App Store guidelines.
It seems like Apple is doing everything it can to get as many people as possible to abandon Apple TV and iOS and switch to Android…
This isn’t Apple. The developer itself removed VidHub from the AppStore. And now they’ve re‑released a slightly modified version of the app and are asking for payment again. Those people who paid for it earlier have been abandoned. That’s all you need to know about the honesty of the VidHub developer. And many other developers are guilty of the same thing. They re‑release the app several times and demand a new payment each time.
as far as I know, the app with the orange icon that’s currently on the App Store is a fake app using the same name. It’s not actually from the Vidhub developer.
This is a small trick. Change the developer’s name, slightly alter the appearance, and release something that’s functionally the same — and then ask for money again. I’m telling you, this isn’t the first time this has happened with Chinese developers.
But VidHub is heavily focused on china mainland users who use Apple devices which is a hefty number. A bait and switch doesn’t make much sense here to a brand developed over two years and counting.
It makes no sense, they have recurring subs. And if they get pulled why would anyone buy again.
