I installed the new version of ATV and am trying to get it to work with Mobile Air Mouse. When I go to the app folder on the ATV and start up the server it seems to connect to my ITouch as when I touch buttons it flashes the screen but I can navigate the system. How do I navigate the system with the Air Mouse?
Guide for Mobile Air Mouse is here:

Note: Mobile Air Mouse is not designed as a replacement for the standard AppleTV remote.
I am having the exact same problem. The referenced instructions do not help. Please look into this and provide a more detailed answer. Thanks.
I agree the instructions are pretty useless. Anyone that has been able to get the air mouse to work please share your experience, thanks.
It works without problem on my ATV. Thanks for that plug-in to aTV Flash developer! You do not need to start server from Nito. You should enter Settings in Maintanance and enable Air Mouse. Then keep in mind as it was mentioned above Air Mouse is not replacement of the ATV Remote or Remote app. So, you can use it only with certain plug-ins, like Firefox or Google Earth.
Though there is a small bug i guess, I have to enalble Air Mouse everytime I wanna use after I reboot ATV.
Does this work on ATV without the Air Mouse “server” software running simultaneously on the computer? One of the points of ATV for me, at least, is to avoid using the computer whenever possible.
Ok, you just need to switch Air Mouse connection either to your computer or ATV in your iPhone or iPod touch. Settings of Air Mouse on your iPhone or iPod are accessible on the upper left coner. And you do not need to disable the server from you computer, just switch.
Thanks! That is very helpful. Hope it works.
OK, thanks now the Air Mouse works for me. But how do you exit Firefox and get back to the normal ATV screen? I closed the browser and now all I have is a black screen. Funny, the Apple Remote on my iPhone still lets me select music to play on ATV, etc., but my TV screen is black.
I’m finding that Mobile Air Mouse only works when i’m actually in the Mobile Air Mouse application (Nito–>applications–> Air Mouse Server.app). When I click on it, the app on the phone connects, and in the Settings section it says ‘AppleTV’. When I navigate out of Air Mouse Server.app, and into say Firefox, the app on the phone reverts back to ‘Searching for Services’, at which point firefox opens and I can’t do anything at all.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Hello, Mobile Air Mouse can be enabled through the Maintenance > Settings menu. Once enabled, it can be used to control other applications (such as Firefox) that are launched through the nitoTV > Applications menu.

I happened exactly the same to me… I could use Mobile Air Mouse only when I was in Mobile Air Mouse Application: I solved the problem in this way:
-open and close Firefox
- open system preference; then exit and return on the Nito Application
-open Air Mouse Server.app and connect you iphone (or ipod) with apple tv - for a strange reason the system preference window remains open: go up to the screen with the mouse (you cannot see any menu but they are there). Click on the top left, where generally you have the apple menu. Open recent items and you will find firefox. Click on it and it will open firefox (or other recently open application, like boxee, etc.) while Mobile Air Mouse is working and operating.
Enjoy!
Same here, I think there are obviously a few bugs, I'm about to try remote HD
