While the app is in the foreground, switch to the secondary user profile.

Expected Result:
After switching to the secondary user profile, the relaunched app should see a different per-user environment:
different UserDefaults data
different contents of the Caches directory
different contents of the tmp directory
Actual Result:
The app relaunches, but UserDefaults and the Caches / tmp directories still contain data from the default user profile.
Notes:
The issue is intermittent. In some cases, profile switching works as expected.
Just acknowledging that I’m also experiencing this issue and it’s made our experience unusable.
User A and User B both have profiles on our ATV, both regularly switch.
User A logged in
User B arrives, switches to profile for User B
User A switches back to profile for User A, retains all of User B’s profile, share and username/login settings for the share.
Resetting hasn’t worked for us either, the issue persists - I agree with another user who said the profiles appear to bleed into one another.
I can fully replicate without intermittence, so we’re just avoiding switching profiles till this is resolved. It essentially makes having separate watch histories impossible.
Hi everyone,I’m experiencing annoying problems when switching users on Apple TV (switching tvOS profiles).Sometimes after changing user, the following happens:
Favorites from one user appear in the other user’s library (they get mixed up)
Posters / artwork change unexpectedly
The language of metadata and covers switches
It seems Infuse is not properly isolating the data when switching between tvOS users, causing favorites, artwork, and language settings to bleed between profiles. Is anyone else having this issue?
Is this a known bug? Any workarounds (like restarting the app, disabling iCloud sync, etc.)?Thanks!
I do not get one thing, why people refuse to use simplest way to bypass this issue:
Always leave the app/go back to main screen and THEN change your profile.
As long as you ate not inside infuse it will change the profile.
In worst case scenario log into previous user account, go back to main menu and swap into yours. It is annoying, but literally takes 5-10 seconds so not changing profile when bypass is so easy is ridiculous
So, I’ve not experienced this bug anymore after I did two things:
disabling iCloud sync
Deleting a second media server instance in my profiles with the credentials of the other profile.
Turned out I had two server instances configured in Infused in both my profiles (I only have two) one for each user. After I deleted the one that shouldn’t be in that specific profile to begin with and sorted out the watched damage that was done it has not happened anymore so more than a week and counting.
Now, I am a 100% certain I did not configure both server instances in each profile. Especially because one of those is for my kid. how this happened I can only speculate maybe icloud sync messed up, idk.
Posting this just in the hopes that someone has the exact same problem and can fix it like this
I have separate shares set up for kids and adults. I have only the kid shares on my kid’s Apple TV/iCloud profile, and the adults have access to all shares. This works beautifully until after a couple of days, the adult profiles begin showing up on the kid Apple TV account with no user input. This is incredibly frustrating and has happened 3 or 4 times now. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
I hated restarting the ATV each time: I’ve had some success with the following:
Force close the Infuse App
Wait approx 5 seconds
Switch profile
It’s really important to force close the app prior to the switch. But I can’t say it has 100% success because I’ve seen it fail.
Are there any updates on the bug report itself that we can get from mods here? As some users have said, this is a dealbreaker bug for some of us and it’s been a couple of months now.
This bug is up since beginning of the April, I guess nobody cares. I knew there will be a lot of issues if infuse picks this path instead of normal profiles.
Time to find another app or go back to plex, as kids profiles doesn’t work.
Honestly, I have similar thoughts, after just paying for a year. I get that this is a bug with Apple so Infuse can’t directly fix it, but Infuse COULD allow profiles natively in the app and not depend on Apple’s implementation.
This bug still exists on 26.5. Switch back and forth between two user with Infuse open and it might work once or twice but quickly gets stuck with one specific users watch state. In my case, this happens when using Emby within Infuse.
