If I have save SHSH in the maintenance tab of atv flash black can I upgrade to 5.2 firmware?
I’m guessing I’d have to use tiny umbrella to download the SHSH from the servers. Currently the atv is running an older version probably 4.4.4.
I know I would have to stitch the SHSH into the ipsw, but if I use ifaith it will only extract the older firmware and not 5.2.
If you have saved blobs via ATV Flash Maintenance menu, then it should just be a case of right-clicking the create IPSW button in SeasonPass and selecting the corresponding firmware release and then proceed as normal.
Hi, i have the same problem and want to update my atv2 with 5.2 presigned firmware. but if i klick right on the “create IPSW button” i cant select my presigned firmware. but i have to use my presigned firmware because apple didnt sign the 5.2 firmware anymore…
I would also like to know how to do this… I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade to 5.2 now that Apple has stopped signing 5.2 if the TV was previously Jailbroken and saving SHSH blobs?
I have a JB’ed AppleTV2 on 4.4.4, but in the Maintenance menu I see I have backups for my firmware on 4.4.4, 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2, 5.1, 5.1.1., and 5.2. But how do I access those SHSH blobs? (especially on a Mac)… can TinyUmbrella fetch them from Cydia? Can I then stitch them into a custom FW for 5.2? How do I do this? (especially on a Mac).
You will need Windows Computer
Get iFaith, start iFaith Plug ATV in and select manage blobs. From here you can download all blobs or 5.2 blobs that are saved for your idevice.
Then get sn0wbreez select 5.2 firmware use iFaith Mode and select your blobs you saved and follow the direction.
