Updating AppleTV software

Is there a setting that allows me to update AppleTV’s software without doing a factory restore? When I try it says that it can’t do it. Thanks

You can re-enable the Apple TV update feature by re-creating the aTV Flash drive, and reinstalling the aTV Flash without the update disabling feature selected.

This will allow you to avoid performing a factory restore.
