I updated the box last night. When it was complete the screen went blank so I rebooted. Now just the Apple logo comes up, then is goes to no signal. I tried rebooting several times. I also tried reloading flash black. I have a mac computer. How can I fix the apple tv g2?
It sounds like you may have installed an Apple TV OS update, which should be avoided on a jailbroken device. In fact, since version 1.0, aTV Flash (black) will prevent updates from being installed for this very reason.
To get back on track your best option will be to re-jailbreak with the current version of Seas0nPass (this will update your Apple TV to the latest 5.0.2 version) and re-install aTV Flash (black).
I tried reloading Seasonpass. Both tethered and untethered. It stays on “waiting for device to enter DFU mode”. What do I need to do?
I also do not see the apple tv under devices on iTunes.
This problem seems to occure for several users who update from v1.6 through the maintenance menu, to v1.7. When asked to reboot the device, the device will continue an infinite reboot loop. The Apple logo may flash during this reboot loop, however the device will fail to start.
I can not confirm whether a device reset and reflash will solve the problem or not.
