I installed xbmc and then boxee, then the launcher and crashed during the instalation of the launcher, and now, the menu with xbmc and boxee is gone, can someone help me?
I had the same thing, just reinstall the patch , but after installation do not install the Launcher and you will get the xbmc and boxee menu again
The Launcher ‘update’ shown in the Downloads section is actually a downgrade to a non-3.0 compatible version.
Do the following to reinstall the current version.
- Navigate to Maintenance > Manage Plugins.
- Highlight the ‘XBMCLauncher’ item and press the right arrow (>>) button.
- Confirm the removal, and restart the AppleTV.
- Navigate back to the same menu, and install the XBMCLauncher item by highlighting it and pressing the play/pause button.
Thanks,that fix worked.
Quick work on this 3.0 update…they`ll be a 4.1 soon I imagine and hope.
That worked! Thank you
Why is it that you always have to update XBMC after a flash in order for it to work properly?
The XBMC/Boxee launcher is included within the aTV Flash package, but the applications themselves must be re-installed anytime an AppleTV update is installed.
Did all that and now I get
Error: Cannot launch XBMC/Boxee from path:
/applications/Boxee.app/contents/macOS/boxee
Any help would be great
Thanks
Boxee will need to be updated prior to using it for the first time. Navigate to XBMC/Boxee > Downloads and select the entry for Boxee. This will download and install the most current version.
At step 4 when i press the play/pauze button i get a error en i have to press play/pauze to restart mij ATV.
I also get the error when i downloaded and installed XBMC.
What im i forgetting ore doing wrong
I’m not a computer geek… When you send out a new version of ATV Flash, I wish you would create installation guides/documents that tell us all of this stuff… like “you will have to re-install Boxee and XMBC… but don’t re-install the Boxee/XMBC Launcher!” If you know that the stupid box will no longer do the things that it did before the “upgrade”, then please tell us that. Don’t leave us sniffing around trying to patch our boxes back together to get back to where we were before the upgrade.
Now if I could just get my darned keyboard/mouse working again…
Hey I consider myself a geek and I was about to make the same comment: With each upgrades, please create a FYI pointing out all those little nagging issues in one place instead of having to roam all over the different sections of the ATVF forum to find the answer… :geek:
