Update/refresh bug on Infuse Pro 8 on Apple

Hello

I updated all our Apple devices(iPhones, iPads, Apple TV’s) to Infuse 8.0 Pro this morning and I am experiencing this bug on all the devices.
When Infuse 8 Pro is launched it does not automatically update/refresh meta data or updates content from the media server. It just hangs(wheel isn’t turning) and when I go check in settings/library it just says “waiting”. It sometimes starts after 20-25 seconds to refresh content and changes and when it does, it takes much longer than usual to fetch them.

Problem is replicated on iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 14 Plus, iPad Pro M2, iPad Air 2024, Apple TV, Apple TV 4K.

Media server is Plex, local install.

All devices and media server are running latest firmware/software version.

Best Regards,

I wiped metadata and reinstalled Infuse. Issue still remains.

UPDATE:

I forgot to update one of our Apple TV 4K with Infuse 8, so it was still running latest pre version 8.
There was no problem with the app updating metadata and fetch new content from the media server upon launch, so the issue without a doubt is introduced in Infuse 8.

This is still a problem in Infuse 8.0.1

Are you using Library Mode or Direct Mode to connect to Plex?

If you have a chance, can you replicate the issue, send in a diagnostic report from your device, and post the 5 digit code here?

Hello James

It’s replicated 90% of the time Infuse app is started.
I am using library mode.

I’ve sent an email from inside Infuse, the code is: ZT5BM

I’m also using plex via library and with infuse 8 I have a similar issue that was not presented on 7.

Whenever I call plex to update (for new movies, episodes etc) infuse 8 is not reflecting the changes on my atv 4k. To update now I have to manually enter on some content details, go back and then infuse reflect the changes, while on infuse 7 the plex changes were reflected immediately so please fix it.

Yes, it’s really annoying and, like we said, it the bug didn’t exist prior to 8.0. I did send in diagnostics - I hope you got them, cause I’ve heard nothing back.

Bug existed for me since 7.7

Issue still persists in 8.0.2

Yes, I just tested in this latest 8 version, and it’s the same thing, I have to manually refresh or enter some content details plus go back to Infuse atv reflect the Plex changes, which is super annoying and so easy to replicate.

还好吧,没有发现

Mod Edit for Translation:

Okay, I didn’t find any.

8.0.3 Infuse, and the same problem, direct or library Plex, same results; refresh frequently doesn’t happen when adding new items to my Plex. Someone said that it’s related to some cloud service, but I fail to understand how Infuse can’t implement a better way to auto-detect changes on a LOCAL Plex server.

Yes, this has been ongoing since 8.0.0 and I’ve been yelling about it in here ever since.
I really hope they will fix this very soon.

8.0.4 and the same problem is still there…

Problem still the same in 8.0.4

I can also confirm that infuse 8 is not refreshing the new content added to google drive/emby server from macbook automatically. For new content to show up , we have to manually go to google drive folder under share options in infuse.
then reverting back to home screen of infuse causes the infuse library to refresh and that adds the new content. it would be great if @james sir could look into this.

thanks

In your logs I am seeing a series of network errors when Infuse attempts to connect to the Plex server and other Plex services.

You may try removing the Plex connection from Infuse and re-adding it as sometimes this can help resolve connection issues with Plex.

Also, if there are any Plex server updates available you may also try installing those, just for good measure.

James, Is there really an online dependency (some cloud service) to the new content detection from Plex by Infuse even if the server is local like others said!?

Somedays like today, Infuse is auto-detecting new content just fine, but other days it just won’t work, and I never experienced that before Infuse 8.

When it won’t work, I just go to some movie/episode details on Infuse, go back, and then the new content magically appears without any additional refresh. That’s why I think it’s some bug introduced by Infuse 8.

Plex makes heavy use of online services, so if the internet is down there is a fair chance connecting to Plex and getting lists of updated content may have issues.

Emby and Jellyfin tend to be more usable in offline environments.
