Unfunctional shares with Mac to Infuse

Hello everyone,
I am trying to get my movies from Mac mini to Apple TV (4th Gen). I turned on File sharing on my Mac and I found my Mac in Infuse app on Apple TV. When I am trying to connected together, it shows me notification: An error occurred: Your username and password combination isn’t right. Please try again.
I tried a combination of Mac Username+Mac password or Apple ID password+Apple ID password, none of that works (they are correct).
What I am doing wrong?

When I was trying to connect Mac mini with MacBook everything works perfectly. When I am using Plex it also works.
Thanks Martin

Welcome to the forum!

In some cases, SMB can have issues with special characters so the characters in your username could be causing an issue here.

Can you try using the ‘short’ username for your Mac (this is the name of your home folder) in conjunction with your Mac’s password to see if this works?

Otherwise, you can try setting up a sharing only user (ensuring no special characters are present) as described here. Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support

Dear James,
perfect, I used only martinnovak and it works but I am seeing only my folder on Mac and I can’t see external HDD. How can I fix it? When I am trying to acces it from MacBook I can see also external HDD.
Thanks Martin

I am sorry James, it was enough to restart the app only. Thank you so much for your help. I paid for PRO version just to support you.
Thanks Martin

If you recently update to macOS Catalina, you may need to disable and then re-enable File Sharing on your Mac.

Catalina has some new security features, and sometimes these don’t get enabled automatically when upgrading.

Of course, you’ll also want to ensure the user is listed in the Users list for that particular folder (drive).

Ok great. Enjoy!
