tvOS 26 breaking multi-user support

I just installed the tvOS 26 update, and multi-user support that was working perfect before seems to be broken. Switching users does NOT change the user in Infuse anymore. It stays connected to the main Infuse profile. It worked perfectly fine before. Any other experiences?

We’ve seen one or two reports of this after updating to tvOS 26 and it seems to be a device-specific system bug.

It might be worth performing a factory restore to see if this helps.

There’s a similar thread at Different Infuse profiles get mixed due to iCloud Sync not sure if the OP of that thread is on tvOS 26 but I am and I have the issue.

Did a full reset of the apple TV. Infuse works now with multi user support again. Weird bug in the device but for anyone having it try a full reset!

I just deleted the Infuse app and re-installed. Seems to be working Ok for me now.

Didn’t fix it for me. Still only able to use the main user library.

Can confirm that only a full reset did the trick for me

I thought the feature was broken but after reading this I tested on my second ATV and it’s working fine, so confirming it’s device specific.

I am having the same issue, uninstalling and reinstalling to test

That did not solve the issue.

FWIW, from the reports we’ve seen it’s a system issue (perhaps related to some failed upgrade routine when installing tvOS 26). So if it’s present on a particular device it would likely affect all apps and not just Infuse.

I’ve only tested it with two user profiles but it seems OK so far. I also had a similar issue where Game Center was stuck on my profile for one person which we resolved by removing the account from the Apple TV and then signing back in. It’s possible the two issues are related so you could try removing the other users and then getting them to sign back in to see if that fixes it.

I think I solved it. I removed all the profiles except for mine. Then added each profile back one by one and everything now sticks!

Awesome! :raising_hands:

A post was split to a new topic: Not able to connect via SMB on tvOS 26

Well spoke a bit too soon. I have to force quit Infuse eveytime I switch a user

Has anyone been able to successfully use profile switching where the files are stored on a cloud drive? The goal is to not have the same shows marked as watched for user A (primary user and license holder) when they are being watched by user B. User A and user B have different Trakt accounts.

In testing, I got the family sharing set up and the cloud drive added to user B’s iPad. Took a few days but the content finally showed on the AppleTv under user B’s profile. Logged into Trakt with user B’s info and the App refreshed itself (and magically the Watching and Recently Added sections appeared - they were not present since about 10 versions back). When switching back to user A’s profile, the Trakt info for user B is still there. Changing it back to user A’s Trakt account results in the App refreshing and removing the Watching and Recently Added sections. Leaving it on the user B profile with user B’s Trakt profile, works for about a day or so before the App just randomly refreshes and leaves a blank screen saying to Add content to Infuse to get started.

Tested on two AppleTV HD devices and one AppleTV 4K, with the 4K still showing the Welcome to Infuse - Add Files intro screen on user B’s profile, two plus weeks after adding the Dropbox share on user B’s iPad. Will try factory resetting one of them to see if something sticks.
