Depending on how I navigate to a TV show, some seasons may be missing. For instance, my version of The Wire is showing seasons 1-5 in some places, and only seasons 4 and 5 in others.
I started watching on Infuse from season 4, having seen the first 3 seasons elsewhere, and am currently in the middle of season 4
I previously had the complete 1-5 seasons in a single properly-indexed folder hierarchy, but:
I replaced season 5 with a higher-def version at a different folder location and deleted the originally-indexed season 5
I have a second, high-def copy of season 4, but Infuse will currently not locate it due to incorrect file naming, so the original low-def copy is still shown
I have restarted Infuse and manually told it to reindex, and it properly located e.g. the new high-def season 5
the full 1-5 list is shown when navigating via Recently Added TV Shows, the 4-5-only list is shown when navigating via Watching
Apparently unrelated to the issue:
I marked seasons 1-3 as watched manually, though only after this issue started happening
This has happened with other shows as well in the past, though I can’t remember which ones except to say it also seemed to be triggered by splitting the show across multiple folder hierarchies (such as when adding the latest season in its own folder, sibling to the other seasons, and not inside a dedicated folder for the show).
That can happen when you split a series into different directories and one of the directories isn’t included in the library.
Another possibility is that you have duplicates that are in a non library directory and then you will only see those when browsing the share and when browsing the library you’ll see all.
The best solution is to not split up the show and keep them in the series>season>video directories.
They are indeed in different directory hierarchies, but they are both in the library. I have a single root folder for all my media, and it’s the only folder Infuse knows about. It’s basically:
root
The Wire
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
The Wire Season 4
The Wire Season 5
So while I get that this isn’t ideal for Infuse, the observed behavior is still a bug. Evidently it’s capable of identifying these as a single show in some cases, but why would “Watching” and “Recently Added TV Shows” end up with different views of it? I don’t want to have to micromanage folder hierarchies just for Infuse, since in some cases the folder hierarchies are there for reasons outside of it.
If you’re browsing via the Library you should see all seasons grouped together in sections like ‘All TV Shows’.
If you are browsing via folders, you may see limited seasons depending on the folder you are currently browsing in.
Also, at the moment, shows in the Up Next list (Watching and Recently Added) would only show individual seasons but this is an area we hope to improve for a future update.
Finding The Wire via Library does indeed work as expected (all 5 seasons). It also works properly when I navigate to it via Recently Added TV Shows on the home screen.
It’s only when navigating to it via Watching from the home screen that I get only seasons 4-5. I played around a bit and got into an even more confusing state – if I go back and play S01E01, it now appears twice in Watching (once for S01E01, once for where I actually am, S04E05). Clicking either of these tiles now shows seasons 1, 4 and 5 (though with the appropriate episode pre-selected). Marking S01E01 as watched removes the second tile and also removes season 1 from the list when clicking the remaining tile (i.e. it goes back to only showing 4 and 5).
Honestly I’m just confused. I can’t really tell what the intent is here, though I guess there’s something about showing multiple different playback positions in Watching. Perhaps this is what you were referring to with “only show individual seasons”?
