I have the black version. I followed everything and it all works perfectly. What I noticed is when I disconnect from the power , the AppleTV gets wiped out totally and I have to install everything from the beginning (Jailbreak and the ATV software ). Is there any reason to why it does that and how can I avoid this ?

Your stuff only gets wiped if you redo the jailbreak. However after a power loss you should be able to reconnect via USB and just do the tethered boot stage. If you do that then everything installed survives intact.
I think the question is when the UNtethered jailbreak will be coming out so we do not need to do this anymore.
Not likely that untethered JB will be out since noone’s really interested in that anymore except who’s in the situation himself. So try to live with that i guess. As far as the issue, i am in the same boat. I JB using Windows since i had to use iFaith. Booting tethered in Windows is completely easy, but I cannot get Boot tethered to work using a Mac. The reason is like many others, i cannot take my Windows Desktop to the living room where the AppleTV should be…
Trying to find out why - perhaps its a Seasonpass version issue and/or we need to move some files (ipsw?) from the Windows PC to the Mac i guess…
