Transfer music to AppleTV

I usually transfer movie files to the AppleTV using Cyberduck in order to have them saved locally on the AppleTV. When doing this I simply put the files in the /Movies. Then I can watch the movies using Files.

How should I go about to transfer music to the AppleTV? Certain music I want to have stored on the AppleTV. I’ve tried putting the files in /Music but it doesn’t appear under Music>My Music.

Help appreciated!

The AppleTV’s Music menu is only for iTunes music. You can use XBMC or Boxee to play the music you transfer to the Music folder on the AppleTV.
