Now i see transcoding is planned, not in progress, not in dev… But isn’t it just a couple of commands you send to plex when requesting playback? Checked MrMC code, looks easy to implement. Maybe problem is in “versatile”? Please, add transcoding asap 
can be not that versatile.
I’m guessing the transcoding option would only be available with a dedicated server such as plex running.
