Trailers are not working for me on iOS and tvOS. I get “An error occurred resource unavailable” on both platforms. They are working on macOS.
They are also not working for Plex on iPhone or tvOS, but are also working on macOS. They are not working on Plex Web. The error message on Plex is “Playback stopped. Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error.” On Plex Web there is no message, just no playback begins.
I did the time syncing fix for the Plex Server that others have been successful with but no luck.
My problem persists as described. I’d appreciate anyone checking to see if they have the same issue.
Why are both Plex and Infuse failing to play trailers for me on iOS and tvOS, yet both continue to play them on MacOS apps?
I’d think it was the (same?) provider, but why play at all if that were the case?
Edit: In iOS, I get this list of available trailers, but when I select one, after around 10 seconds it returns the same error after attempting to play.
All titles are affected. iOS Infuse on cellular results in the same error message.
EDIT: I turned off Tailscale on my iPhone (using cellular), and Trailers work!
But I tried this (turning off Tailscale) repeatedly on tvOS using my local wifi connection and it doesn’t help. Movies play, but not trailers.
MacOS Infuse trailers play with Tailcale ON, but not OFF, using wifi local connection.
MacOS plays the trailers using my phone hotspot.
This was a Tailscale issue. If I set up a Mullvad location node, a paid Tailscale add-on, on ATV, the Infuse trailers play. These location add-on nodes didn’t even appear on ATV or iPhone when I first began to pay for them, they were only available on my Macbook. They now have appeared in ATV and iPhone, and when I discovered them and selected one on each device the Infuse trailers now play everywhere.
Plex plays the trailers now on iPhone and Macbook too, but maddeningly, still won’t play them on the ATV.
