To Update or Not?

Purchased late Nov 2009. Apple TV vers 3.01. Latest aTV Flash. Everything worked sweet!
.mkv file= no problems
.divx file= no problems
.avi file= no problems

THEN Jan 4, 2010 I decided to update via settings:update
Update successful. Reboot and…
.mkv file= NOT working
.divx files= NOT 100%
.avi files= NOT 100%

So, is it worth updating the apps?

Anyone?

What exactly was updated that caused the issue?

Updated to latest vers today. All fixed. Can play all formats! Yay!
