I’ve found that I need to individually manually set the correct metadata info, even though they are already showing to be linked to the correct metadata.

Oh dear, the version was updated to .7 recently, this is getting stupid, everything was fine before v.5.

I’ve found now those few that I had to manually edit to get Infuse to recognise them due to a slight difference (and which Plex recognises perfectly well, due to ‘fuzzy logic’ or whatever) are being unmatched from their metadata with the auto refresh in infuse. and dumped back in the “Others” library.

Looks like it’s gonna be more robust to drop the allocated shares within Infuse and link to the Plex library. not impressed! cheers CD

Can you share what language your device is set to and the language settings you have set in Infuse?

Does clearing cached metadata or editing metadata of specific titles have any effect?

After the release of 8.4.6,I’ve clear all my metadata.The missing posters are still missing.

And then I editing the metadata,The posters exist a few seconds,and then continue missing.

8.4.7 has released a few days,I edit it again.No use.

Well that was a bit strong, but I can understand the frustration. I also only just renewed my annual subscription. Plex doesn’t have a problem recognising and linking metadata to the exact same files that Infuse cannot, and it was perfectly fine before v.6. Not impressed at all to be honest. And a refund or a return to the earlier ‘proper version’ would be appreciated. Cheers CD

My current metadata language is set to zh-cn. The affected episodes or movies are generally those that lack both zh-cn and the fallback English language on TMDB. Oddly enough, though, the original region language is not being shown either.

I am currently using zh-cn as my metadata language. I’ve noticed that for certain movies and TV episodes—specifically those that lack both zh-cn and the fallback English metadata on TMDB—the posters are not displaying properly. Strangely, the original region language poster is not being shown as a fallback either, which leaves these items with missing artwork.

Feature Request / Suggestion:

I would like to propose that Infuse implement a transparent and user-configurable fallback mechanism for poster selection. Specifically:

  1. User-Defined Fallback Priority – When the selected metadata language (e.g., zh-cn) does not have a corresponding poster, the user should be able to define a priority list of fallback languages to try next (e.g., English → original region language → random, etc.).

  2. Priority Order Matters – Since even English posters are not guaranteed for all titles, a simple binary fallback is insufficient. The system should allow a cascading priority order, giving users control over the sequence of fallback sources.

  3. Flexible Options – The fallback pool could include:

    • English

    • Original region language (based on the content’s country/region of origin)

    • Random poster from available languages

    • Manual user selection from TMDB’s full poster library for that title

Why This Matters:

  • Users have diverse language preferences and content libraries.

  • Missing posters degrade the browsing experience and force users to manually fix artwork.

  • A rigid fallback (e.g., only to English) fails when English is also unavailable.

  • Giving users control over fallback logic reduces friction and improves the overall experience without requiring Infuse to predict every edge case.
