Thumbnails missing on Russian ISP

Hello, dev team.

I’ve encountered an issue with metadata and thumbnails not fetching.

I think it’s because of sort of geo blocking on server side, because I’m in Russia.

I tried it with VPN connection on an iPhone app and it works flawlessly there.

Also i somehow fixed metadata issue by switching to 9.9.9.9 DNS on my router. But that feels slower than before.

But thumbnails are not loading on TV app and i don’t want to use a VPN client there.

I’ve read on local forums, that you were using some proxy software to avoid geo blocking and that’s why it was working before. Can it be fixed again?

Can you view https://www.themoviedb.org/ with a web browser and see the artwork there without using a VPN? Just curious.

On a page - yes, i can, but when i click on an image it’s not loading

Oh, and i forgot to mention that those issues started in the middle of december.

This may be due to a limitation with your ISP or TMDB itself. We will look further into this.

I have the same problem in Russia. Only a VPN helps. I can’t access the site https://www.themoviedb.org/ without a VPN from Russia

I have the same problem. The whole point of using infuse is gone. Metadata is not loaded, pictures are not generated, there is no description of the movie.

Unfortunately the issue still persist. Metadata can be gathered, although with complications. However pictures and graphics cannot be retrieved without vpn on RU ISP.

Is there a way to fix this, especially on apple tv app? Changing dns to 9.9.9.9 did not help

There are a set of improvements coming in the 8.3.7 update which will be available soon.

James, thank you very much for prompt response and hopefully the issue will be resolved in the upcoming update. In the meantime, proxying access to tmdb’s IPs helped me as temporary workaround.

Still, hope that there will be some built-in solution in Infuse.

It was working for me for almost two weeks, but today i noticed it’s not working again. Will wait for a new version.

Today’s 8.3.7 update has a set of improvements that should improve reliability of metadata and artwork fetching issues in some regions.

Note: There are a few performance related improvements still in progress.
