Thinking of getting aTV Flash

Hi,

I have an ATV which was purchased around Christmas last year so it came with the build that no longer had the SMBMOUNT,etc… binaries. Is that a dependency to get network streaming working with the native ATV interface and aTV Flash?

The only problem you should run into is geting AFP working since you do not a 1.0 Apple TV. The rest of the networking and steaming protocols should be fine. You can check out the AFP page here for more info: http://wiki.atvflash.com/index.php?title=Enable_AFP

AFP is just for attaching external drives to the ATV itself right? What I am looking for is a one step solution that will allow me to play back divx/xvid videos of my QNAP NAS via network streaming (not transcoding) through the native ATV interface (e.g. not having to resort to XBMC). Is this possible with the aTV Flash?

Ok so I bought it but none of the network streaming options work for me via the normal ATV interface. When trying to set up the mount I am getting errors like SMBMOUNT not found or NFSMOUNT not found etc… I feel like i spent money on something that doesn’t work?

It sounds like the Smart Installer may have not been ran. This step is required for enabling features like SMB or NFS streaming.

I’m having the same problems. I bought your software thinking that everything’s gonna be easy.

I’ve ran the Smart Installer sooo many times already. I’ve rebooted the ATV too. And it takes a while everytime. I don’t mind that as long as it gets to be successful. But it doesn’t.

Any ideas? I will just ask for a refund if i don’t get streaming to work.

Did you ever get NFS working? I have SMB working fine - configured via te NitoTV > Network interface BUT NFS just gives me error. Why so hard to make work?

Is there a reason you need NFS over SMB?

i have been told that it can help the stuttering image play that i get with smb over LAN and WIFI

Still - does NFS work on NitoTV and how does it differ from SMB via configuration.
