I have The Prisoner (1967). On TMBD there is a specials season with quite a lot of S00 episodes, which is great. However for some reason Infuse isn’t pulling that part of the metadata - no specials season is created and all of the Season 00 contents are tagged as “other”. Yet I can see everything clearly on TMDB. Anyone else with this TV show had the same issue? I’ve gotten this to work on other series with the same folder structure and episode naming so I don’t think it’s me.
That’s where I started, and what I usually do in other special series. I went back to the simplest naming possible to diagnose any issues. Same result when add the TV show name back in.
Thanks for running that test. That of course is exactly the behavior I am looking for. The naming convention is slightly different, I’ll see if I can duplicate that and hopefully get the same result.
For whatever reason, that worked. I removed the parentheses around the year, made sure episode and season letters were caps. I do keep a descriptive string present after the episode number which doesn’t seem to impact anything.
However I think there are still issues with TMDB. They list a series of trailers as episodes under specials, but none of these scrape. I moved these back into a /Trailers directory where they likely belong, as I thought this was odd to begin with. Regardless I have what I was really after (a real Specials series).
Yup, that seems to be fine to have extra after the SxxExx. On the VERY rare occasion depending on the numbers and or words after it has caused a gremlin but it’s nothing to really worry about. Add away after the episode number.
If you name them as an episode with the Exx as it is in TMDB then it “should” scrape correctly but I’ve gone 10+ years without extras and trailers and this old dog hasn’t got brave enough to figure out this new trick.
As a matter of general practice - I typically use the TV Show Name (Year) naming convention including parentheses. Is it better / more standard practice to use the naming convention as in what we just did here for The Prisoner?
Having the year for TV series now seems to be a big plus and technically having parentheses “shouldn’t” cause issues but again, once in a great while it may so I personally have just standardized on just the year sans parentheses.
I’m sure there are some users who never had a problem but knock on wood so far the format I used has been pretty bullet proof.
