The playback progress bar for DV format videos jumps around

code:K16SA
When playing DV format videos, dragging the progress bar inside the buffer causes the buffer progress to disappear and then reappear. Infuse has always had seeking issues with DV and HDR, and I don’t know if @james is willing to spend the effort to investigate and fix it.

Are you seeing any actual playback or buffering issues, or is it just the cache indicator you’re concerned about?

The cache indicator is intended to be a guide rather than an exact, bit-perfect representation of what’s been cached.

Also, this is a very large, high-bitrate 120 Hz 4K Dolby Vision file. Infuse will need to actively manage the cache, especially if you’re making frequent seeks like those shown in the video.

You got one thing wrong — this movie isn’t 120Hz, it’s 23.98Hz. 120Hz is my screen’s refresh rate. Also, 25.2 Mbps isn’t that high of a bit rate. The obvious jumping in the buffer progress here is clearly a seek issue. Many people have already reported this seek problem, and personally, I’ve reported it multiple times — seeking is really laggy. When you seek 10 seconds, there’s a 3-second error. Especially on Mac, seeking is basically unusable. Recently, the HDR and DV experience with Infuse has been particularly bad, so I’ve posted many threads begging you to improve and optimize it. If you need test data, we can also help, but I just hope you can solve the real issues and optimize our experience.

This post has already pointed out the problem.

My mistake, I see the correct fps of the video now.

If you are reporting a similar issue it is best to keep things in a single thread. This will help us better track reports and investigate issues.

We are aware of the issue from the thread you linked and it is on our radar to investigate.
