I’ve got multiple media centers at home, all running XBMC. They all use one central MySQL database on my NAS. This includes my Apple TV 2. I would really prefer to use Firecore’s media player, because it just looks and feels better. It would be great if the Firecore media player included an option to play nice with the XBMC MySQL database. Two functions: 1) read the media database and 2) update the watch status.
This would result in a network where pc’s with XBMC and Apple TV’s with Firecore media player all share the same database, use the same metadata, and share watch states. Also, the Apple TV wouldn’t have to update the metadata: this could be left to one of the XBMC clients, or the (possibly headless) XBMC instance on the NAS.
