Support skip intro for Jellyfin

Are you asking to beta test this in Infuse or in Jellyfin?

In Jellyfin first, but if possible also in Infuse.

It isn’t merged in the beta branch yet (and won’t be for some time).
But you can build the PR branch if you really want to.

+1 for this.

Don’t forget that you need to click the like button on the first post in this thread to show your support for this suggestion!

It’s my first time

That is not the case. That functionality is planned for the next major release. There is no point in spending any of the development time on the now deprecated plugin.

Hang tight, hopefully we are close to make it official

Oh sorry,
Misinterpretation of Reddit and GiHut post.

@james this will be in Jellyfin 10.10.0, going live in the start of october. The API is, if I’m not mistaken, already final.

Great! We’ll plan to look into this after the release of 8.0.

It is now.

To give the devs more info: the API has been locked as of yesterday. The API won’t change any more. The release is currently planned on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, however there might be further pushes until the end of October for non-API breaking bugfixes if any issues arise.

Looks like Jellyfin is finally adding native support for intro/outro skipping in 10.10.0 which is set to release on October 26th. Code is now locked, so hopefully support for this is in the cards for Infuse?

Rgds.

I created a new topic because I missed this one and I was merged in. Good to see that it will be implemented. I can finally go back to Jellyfin.

Jellyfin 10.10 has been officially released!

This version supports the MediaSegments API part of which are intro segments. There are more types of segments and it would be awesome if Infuse could support them all, but no pressure:)

Cheers!

Implementation of that would be a god send for Infuse ! It support Intro, outro and even commercial skip !!

@benoitvinc don’t forget Jellyfin won’t create any markers on its own, you have to use plugins for that. And the only two ones that exists right now only create markers for show intros and (kindoff) credits for movies and shows.

This is now available in Infuse 8.0.4.

Happy skipping!

That’s great, thanks @james !

Has anyone had any success getting the “Automatically Skip Intros” feature to work? I can see the “Skip Intro” option on my tvOS and iOS clients, but it doesn’t seem to auto-skip.
