I’m using Infuse on iPad.
I have an external HDMI display connected alone with bluetooth keyboard and Apple Magic Trackpad 2.
I use iPad display with other softwares and I use Infuse on external display.
Here’s the issues I encountered under this scenario:
No progress bar, no controls. I cannot fast forward, cannot adjust subtitles, etc.
Once I clicked “enter full screen” on Infuse on external display, I can only exit full screen mode through a series of complex workarounds.
In Control Center of iPad, media control sometimes cannot pause video, sometimes can.
If I want to stop watching a video, I had to use Esc key on my keyboard and Esc key sometimes work and sometimes it does not work.
If I want to use external monitor with other softwares while watching videos with Infuse on my iPad’s screen. it’s not possible. Because Infuse will just takes up two displays, internal one for media controls and external one for the video.
Hello, i have an iPad Pro 12.9 (5th gen) with iPadOS 17.0.2 and Infuse 7.6.1. I use the iPad with an external 24” 1080p Dell monitor in extended display mode (not mirror).
The problem is that at least from the latest versions on iPadOS 16 and continues on 17, when i want to play a video in Infuse, with the app on the iPad screen, it opens the movie on the external Dell monitor. If i open Infuse on the external monitor still plays on the external monitor but its kinda broken as once the movie started i cannot control it anymore from gui.
The 2 big issues i have with this behaviour are that i have 2 screens to multitask, not to fill both with a single app and if i want to watch a movie on my iPad i prefer the iPad screen, as it supports HDR.
I understand that maybe some people would want to use the bigger screen for entertainment, but it should be an option, not the default. Also i would prefer to have Infuse on the single screen as its the normal behaviour without an external monitor connected.
And i hope it is not a direction pushed by Apple.
Is this support still pending as I cannot see any option to disable fullscreen playback on an external monitor when using stage manager. I would prefer to play video on my iPad display while working in other apps on the external display

Oh I see the tag, and I see this thread was opened in 14 months ago and was curious if it is still ‘on the radar’ or if there was any update.
I love infuse, long time subscriber, but it’s becoming a sore point in my subscription as I move to my iPad full-time on my desk, that’s all.
I just wanted to add as well, love infuse for years but now the iPad is my main platform and would love this one to be treated as a priority!
