Suddenly, a lot of the collections (not all but the majority) I had are missing. They were there before And played properly. But today I went in and a lot of the collections are missing. Some notes:
I am using Jellyfin and collections show there correctly. I am using it in library mode, as I was before, and I haven’t changed that.
It is a single server containing the shares.
The network settings, Sharing folders, network IP addresses nothing has changed.
New additions to Jellyfin do show up correctly.
Troubleshooting wise, I have restarted the server (Collections show up correctly in the Jellyfin server), Of course, restarted Infuse. To collections off and back on again. The problem persists.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to troubleshoot an issue like this?
PS. AppleTV 4K. Infuse 7.8.1 (4924). Jellyfin server version 10.8.13.
UPDATE 2: Strange. On the iOS app, I see all the collections. On AppleTV, it’s only about a dozen. Interesting note though: today it shows a different set of collections than yesterday, still displaying about the same limited amount of collections
I haven’t found a solution but some sort of work around.
Turns out the cause is this: if I toggle OFF one of the library folder (for example I have a in the share, and then toggle it back ON, the “Collection” stops displaying them. To be clear, the libraries that remain ON still have Collections that should display but don’t. Toggling any alternate library folder in the share causes issues throughout all the other folders. For example, I toggled off one Jellyfin library folder that contains my pre-1950 movie DVD Rips, and Collections for the remaining folders disappear.
I should say, it seems a display issue. If I search for a missing collection, it shows up in the search results.
Quick note: this wasn’t an issue before (I have been cleaning up my DVDs for a few months now), I think it appeared in one of the newest updates.
The workaround: you have remove the server fully and re-add it. Keep in mind, the issue appears again when a library is toggled again.
If you deselect a Jellyfin Library from the Infuse > Settings > Library menu then the items from there will no longer be listed in the Infuse Library areas, including the Collections area.
Toggling it back should bring them back, but there may be a delay as Infuse will need to scan through the share to get everything updated.
The issue is that collections that are on the libraries that are toggled ON also disappear.
For example, I have most of the collections in a Movie library. If I turn OFF another library, for example, an Old Movies library, collections from the still available Movie library also disappear. If I toggle all libraries back on, none of the cleared ones ever come back, even days later. Sometimes the remaining collections change, rotate if you will, but it always ends up displaying only 20 of them. I don’t know why 20 though. Collections appear if I search for them though.
The way you describe the behavior is known to me. It was how libraries and collections behaved up until a few weeks ago. It is no longer the case though.
