Successfully jailbreak - what now?

Hi everyone,

being honest, this is my first time ever I do a jailbreak on any of my Apple deviced. The reason is that I’d like to use a Synology NAS for streaming movies (most in mp4 format) to my AppleTV without switching on my iMac every time. Another purpose is that those movies simply fill up my internal disk, so I have to look for any other external storage.

What I now started to ask myself is, what happens after the jailbreak? Is there any other task to perform or is the jailbreak itself enough?

Would be great if anyone here could share some advices with me.

Many thanks in advance, regards, Thomas

All the jailbreak does is give you the ability to install additional software on the Apple TV.

There are basically two routes forward.   One is to buy the ATV Flash software that FireCore produce.  More details on what this software provides are available on the FireCore main site.   The other route is to do manual install of additional software via a SSH session and use free software such as XBMC to achieve what you want.
