Most of my library are videos that I do not want to fetch metadata on but I do have movies and tv shows. For the tv shows, I would like to be able to easily download subtitles. If “Metadata & Artwork” => “Metadata Fetching” if off, it appears that I can not just click on the gear icon while watching the program, hit advanced, Subtitles, Get More. And, generally, when “Metadata Fetching” is enabled, the whole program does things that I’m not use to and I would prefer the user interface that is presented when “Metadata Fetching” is off. I just want to easily download subtitles. I realize that I can do this myself but it is obviously easier to let Infuse do it.
What is the easiest path for me?
Also, when Metadata Fetching is on, I get the “Top Rated Movies” which I’m not interested in.
You should be able to get rid of that by clicking on the hamburger in the top right with the down arrow, then click on “Edit”, then click on “Movies”, then click on “By Rating” then click on “Top 30”. That should remove that row on the home screen.
If you have a specific directory (folder) with videos you don’t want to fetch metadata then you can tag that folder as “Local” and it won’t gather metadata from TMDB.
You may be able to arrange your video files into directories and choose which ones you want to get metadata. Those should also be able to get subs like you want since they’re fetching metadata.
You’ll want to turn back on the fetch metadata option and just turn off certain directories with the local setting.
