Subscription lost when switching App Store account

Since Infuse 8.2, my iPhone has also been upgraded to iOS 26 beta. I found that after subscribing to Infuse Pro and switching my App Store account (the iCloud account is still the one that subscribed Infuse Pro) to another account, my Infuse Pro subscription became unavailable immediately. In the past, once I subscribe to Infuse Pro, switching to another App Store account would not invalidate my subscription. But now, any switch to an App Store account will invalidate the subscription.

It’s a serious problem for multiple account switch

Same here. But not limited to OS 26s.

It used to work to, on my family members’ devices (we do not share an Apple family), iPhones. iPads and Apple TVs

  • Download Infuse from my Apple account (I have a Pro license)
  • Infuse Pro is activated on the device
  • Then switch the store account to the family member’s (who does not have an Infuse Pro license)
  • Infuse Pro remains activated.

Now, on both iPhone/iPad and Apple TV, Infuse Pro is no longer activated.

On the Apple TV, you can switch to an account where the store account is mine, but you loose all the settings from the actual owner (who has the iCloud account)

I remember that Infuse made some changes in order to be able to handle multiple users on Apple TV, but the loss of Infuse Pro activation when switching user is pretty bad.

Sharing through Trakt still works, but I really do not want to mix my watch history with my family members’.

@james any thoughts?

Thanks in advance :folded_hands:.

I’m guessing it’s related to iOS/TVOS 26 as I have the same problem. I got around it by signing into Trakt. The subscription can be shared through Trakt.

Observed it on iPadOS 18 and tvOS 18 too.

Hello,

So, latest version of Infuse was supposed to correct the restoration of the subscriptions.

Well, since then, I have regularly a request to sign in again, on ALL my devices.

I use 2 Apple accounts. One is Swiss, which is the one used to buy the lifetime subscription years ago. The other one is American, which is the one active in Apple’s Media and Purchases.

So, when I’m using the US account, very often, I have to switch back to the CH one to restore the purchase. Infuse seems unable to keep the subscription active for a long time with a different account selected.

Before the update, this would happen on the ATV only. Now, it’s happening, again, on all my devices.

Infuse now uses StoreKit 2 which is a little more strict about having the current account match the original purchase receipt.

IMHO, it’s not that unreasonable how Apple handles this by default, but we have a few adjustments in progress that should help things work a bit more smoothly if you find yourself juggling multiple Apple accounts.

Hi,

I would like to report a strange problem. I am a long time Infuse PRO user and contribute to the Infuse community every now and then. I have multiple Apple devices and until the 8.2.2 update, all devices updated without any problems and smoothly.

However, with the 8.2.2 update, I lost the PRO versions on two ios and pados devices. Suddenly, these two devices become normal infuse accounts requiring me to upgrade to the PRO version. After some look around, I managed to resolve the issue by logging into my Trakt account and the two devices become PRO again. Good luck I have a Trakt account but not everyone may have one.

Anyway, as this only happened on these two devices. I checked what was different in terms of setup. However, please note that my setup on these two devices were exactly the same before and after the 8.2.2 update. So something was broken with the 8.2.2 update:

  1. The primary Apple account on both devices is a UK based Apple account from which I purchased the lifetime Infuse Pro account.
  2. However, as I live in Turkey, I also have a Turkey based Apple account for various subscriptions.
  3. So, although my primary account remains the UK one as logged in, my subscriptions account is the Turkey one. Apple allows you to do that.

I believe somehow the 8.2.2 update started to see that I use a different account for subscriptions. This was not the case before 8.2.2 and I do not have the same problem, so far let’s say on my macbooks. I need to check when I go back home whether this is also now the case with Apple TV.

Anyway, I thought I should report this.

Best wishes.

Yaman

A few purchase handling improvements for those using multiple Apple IDs in different App Store regions are included in today’s 8.2.4 update.

Thanks for your patience. :folded_hands:

Hey James, closely related to this, I’ve been meaning to ask…I have Infuse with my Apple Account in Canada. If I were to move to another country and set up an account there, how can I keep using my Infuse lifetime license?

Unfortunately, developers don’t have a way to transfer purchases between Apple accounts.

I am not sure if Apple has the ability to transfer your purchases either, but it may be worth reaching out to ask them if they can help.

8.2.4 seems to restore the previous behavior for me (and my family).

Thanks :folded_hands:

I believe you can change your country for your existing apple account when you move and have your purchases move across (provided they are available in that countries App Store). Apple will be able to clarify this for you. One thing to note is if you have family sharing setup and you change your country you won’t be able to share purchases across regions.

You can just keep your old (canadian) account for purchases, making sure you downlaod Infuse using that account.

And use an account from your new country for iCloud.

This is the setup I have.

Thank you, I’ll look into it.

Oh, that’s a great idea, then I can keep family sharing of Infuse as well. Thanks!

Thanks Jarvis. That was very helpful.
