I updated Infuse with the latest version 8.5.2, I cannot stream any contents from my Apple TV & Mac. It broke my experience.

i have com.firecore.media.player, error 1.

Hi Everyone, I use Infuse since many years and it’s the first time I have this : com.firecore.media.player erreur 1.

So this release broke my Infuse a bit…

After updating I wanted to resume a TV episode that had the “Resume Watching” button but that threw the error “The operation could not be completed. (com.firecore.media.-player error 1.)”.

Tried “Start from beginning” and worked like a charm. However… when fast forwarding exact same error is thrown.

Also tried other episodes and movies and here they doesn’t even start to play, it throws the same error right away . Tried with 1080p files, 2160p DV/HDR files - all the same issue.

Using an AppleTV 4K 2nd Gen on tvOS 26.6. Infuse library is connected to a Synology NAS through FTP.

EDIT: tried on my iPad with iPadOS 26.6.1 and same issue (no play from the start). No files from my library will play at all. Throws the error “The operation could not be completed. (com.firecore.media.-player error 1.)” as well.

EDIT 2: tried a local video file on my iPad from Files app and no issue at all. Can resume, can fast forward, …

EDIT 3: deleted library on iPad and readded it using SMB instead of FTP - this seems to fix the issue. Looks like it’s linked to using FTP?

Switched to WebDAV on my AppleTV for my Infuse library and that fixes it too.

We’re submitting 8.5.3 to Apple which includes a quick fix and this should be available soon.

After updating Infuse to 8.5.2, playback stopped working completely for me.

Every movie now fails with:

“The operation could not be completed. (com.firecore.media.player error 1.)”

This happens on both Apple TV and iPhone, and both devices started showing the exact same error immediately after updating to 8.5.2.

The network connection itself appears fine — Infuse Speed Test works normally and the files are accessible, but actual playback fails on every movie I have tested.

Everything was working normally before the update.

Has anyone else seen this with 8.5.2, or is Firecore aware of a regression in the media player?

The FTP protocol is broken in 8.5.2 you need to fix this asap.

It depends on how many apps Apple has to review at any given time, but usually 1-3 days.

Anyone else having issues post update?

I’m getting errors "The operation couldnt be completed. (com.firecore.media.-player error 1.) playing back files from my NAS I have watched before, some earlier today.

Have made sure the app is the new version and restarted the Apple TV. :frowning:
