Stream Stalling (Torbox)

When streaming data for a movie in particular due to its size say 30+Gb. I have tried all cache settings (Auto/Limited/Memory/Legacy) with various problems and no real solution, but with auto being the best of the worst.

Basically what happens is in auto it will buffer a large amount of data, then when infuse reaches the end of the initial buffer it no longer tries to create a new buffer and just streams and I assume tries to pull in data to match the Mbps requirement. For smaller ex. 30 Gb you may get away with this, but larger say 50 Gb it seems to inevitably lose the buffer entirely and then the rotating image appears in the middle and it will never rebuffer again. You must close the app and restart it to create a new large initial buffer.

For the other cache options they tend to work so long as you do not press pause and come back after a brief period. If you do then the file will lose buffer and either kick you out of infuse or spinning object in middle appears.

Does anyone else experience this or know how to resolve it?

Regards,

Torbox user here, I play my files in Infuse via WEBDAV.

I used to have problems with severe buffering in the past, but I read that people recommend the “memory” Cache setting, so I set it to that. It’s been fine for the most part… until today

Today when playing a Bluray remux episode - 15GB in size and 37Mbps, I was able to watch for around 5-7 minutes before Infuse would crap itself and give me the following error

com.firecore.media.player error 1

Force closing Infuse does not do much, I mean I can resume the playback where it stopped previously, and watch for a bit, but it’ll just stop and show the error again.

Device is an Apple TV 4K (32GB model from 2021)

I can’t say for sure but it may help the dev if the next time you get the error you send in the Infuse diagnostics and post the 5 digit code here.
