Still cant update from 3.6

Hi All

I’ve been having trouble getting the apple tv to recognise the USB stick since 3.6

It exhibited the same issues as many mentioned when trying to update to 3.6.1, in that the usb stick did not auto unmount from the mac and was visible and readable.

I missed that update and tried to go for 3.6.2. The usb stick unmounted and is unreadable on the mac, but is not recognised or read by the apple tv when I power it up with the usb in place.

I’ve tried two different sticks, both of which worked before.

Anyone else having this problem? Help appreciated.

Issue resolved:

  • install Apple TV Upgrade
  • reset to factory settings
  • then boot from patchstick

For some reason, that was the only process that worked.
