Sound is now only a hiss

Upgraded to 5.7 and now appears sound is broken.

Setup with ATV todo ‘best quality’ and Infuse for passthrough to allow DTS-HD etc from MKV

Any ideas ?

Set Infuse to ‘Auto’ and you’ll get lossless DTS-HD/TrueHD decoded to PCM losslessly and passed to your receiver. Passthrough only supported AC3/DTS and not lossless tracks before Apple messed that up in 11.3.

Thanks, a least there is no hiss with Auto :slight_smile:

Something still seems wrong though as DTS isn’t detected by the AMPS anymore just comes up as PCM

That’s fine, what Infuse does is losslessly decode the DTS/AC3/DTS-HD/TrueHD track to PCM and send it to your receiver. You’re still getting the exact same audio quality that you would be getting with passthrough (except Atmos and DTS-X tracks).

DD/DTS is a hiss for me as well on my Anthem AVM 20. I just figured Apple broke something and I switched it back to auto until Apple can get with the 2000s and add passthrough.
