I have three apple tvs and all of them show this strange behaviour:
1.) appletvs are jailbroken using latest Seas0nPass ( 4.4.4 untethered ).
2.) ATV Flash Black 1.2 installed
3.) Latest Mediaplayer and Maintenance module
4.) No other plugins
Sometimes ( in the range of 1-2 out of 10 ) the apple tvs do not boot correctly.
It takes a very long time to boot up while blinking (1 minute or so) and the apple logo appears then the screen stays dark after one minute.
The led has stopped blinking and stays on.
What it takes is to remove the power cord for three seconds and reboot again. Then it always works to sucessfully boot in a fraction of the time.
The apple tvs are hooked to different brands of tvs/beamers and surround systems and all of them show this behaviour.
I have exactly the same problem (on 3 ATV2’s). I tried contacting support, but they said they did not know anything about the problem and told me to send the logs.
There was a bug in the first version of Seas0nPass that was released on 12/30 that was affecting some users. This was resolved rather quickly in an update released a few hours after the original version.
Your best option may be to re-jailbreak with the current version as this should clear up any issues you’re seeing.
I think that this issue still remains in the later version seas0npass. Hope the developer will fix the jailbreak related issue which caused by old version ‘corona’.
Similar issue here. ATV2 doesnt start, if it was put to sleep and powered down,. Unplugging the power cord and plugging it back after 5 seconds does the trick, though it is a bit of a hassle.
I installed in June 2012 and have the same issue. It seemed to start over the last month after working well for a couple of months. Not sure it was the version of season pass as I imagine I downloaded the most recent version but will check. No 3rd party software or unusual settings that I know about. Please let me know if anybody finds a solution as rebooting is a bit of a pain.
I still to this day experience the odd occasion of a reboot not booting correctly. I will try and review some logs over the next few days and see if there is a point I can detect.
