Are there any known issues with macOS 26? After updating my MacBook Pro to the new OS and also to Infuse 8.2.5, when I start playing some HDR files from the beginning, the first 4 seconds will either freeze or stutter before starting to play smoothly. As far as I can tell, it’s only affecting the picture, not the audio. And it seems to always be exactly 4 seconds.
Each time I could reproduce the issue it was with an HDR file, and I couldn’t reproduce the issue at all with any SDR files.
Since I updated everything kind of at the same time, I cannot say if the issue is with the new macOS or the newly released version of Infuse, but this is new behavior.
Any news about this? I just checked, and this is still an issue with 8.2.6
As usual, I can prepare a sample video if Firecore can’t reproduce the issue internally. Just let me know. I’m reproducing this issue on a MacBook Pro M2 Max using a Plex server.
I saw in the ‘Upcoming Features’ thread that some macOS work is planned for the upcoming 8.2.7 release. Is this issue being planned to be fixed then? If that’s the case, it would be totally alright. This bug isn’t exactly a showstopper as it’s only affecting the first 4 seconds of some HDR files when played from the very beginning. But nevertheless, it’s noticeable and annoying enough to warrant a fix.
