Slow Start of Streaming with Jellyfin

Hey there,

it usually takes 3-5 seconds after starting a movie until the first frame appears on TVOS as well as macOS. When Streaming with Swiftfin, it starts instantly.

I tried different caching options but it makes no difference, it feels laggy this way. Is there a setting that adds an intentional delay?

Can you run a speed test for this Jellyfin server in Infuse and share what kind of speeds you are seeing?

The speed is pretty good but I want to clarify that it is just the start of playing the video that is slow (takes about 10 seconds). Not sure if it is on my end of the jf server or infuse

It looks like it’s getting worse as the video goes on, you may want to run it to 100% completion for that video and see what it looks like then. When you start hitting zero so soon at only 4% it that may be a network issue.

Hey James, unrelated to this, can i request a feature for Infuse to automatically play the first version listed in a jellyfin video (currently there is only auto play highest quality - but this sometimes selects a wrong version). If there is an option to automatically play the first version in the list, that would be great
