what if the TV doesn’t support DV though? you wouldn’t want it to show DV when it’s not available to the user.
Yes, that could be helpful but an app like Infuse doesn’t have the ability to detect the capabilities of the TV. For example, we can make a request to switch the output to DV but it’s the system that determines which output mode to actually use.
but the appletv has the capabilities, so the app would just need to know what the device is capable of
it’s pointless the app reporting that the file is DV when the appletv already knows it’s not capable of it.
If a video has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ you would see DV.
Would be great if there would be an option in the settings to show HDR10+ instead of the DV badge. Very helpful for Samsung tv owners.
Also seeing the same thing on files that are a mixture of DV and HDR10+. If you own a Samsung TV it’s tricky to tell if you have the correct file as DV looks the same as DV + HDR10+. Thanks!
